BIO / RESUME
I’m Rhea Penny, a creative technologist based in Brooklyn, NY. Before any of this I was a crew chief on V-22 Ospreys in the United States Marine Corps — over 500 flight hours, including humanitarian missions in the Philippines and Nepal. After the military I studied at The New School of Drama in Manhattan, where projection design and interactive projections pulled me into Augmented Reality.
My work is about “the weird” and human consciousness — Philip K. Dick, David Lynch, Ursula K. Le Guin, and Alex Garland are the household gods. My AR filters have pulled over 10 million views, and I’ve had the privilege of collaborating with Fatboy Slim, the Martha Graham Dance Company, and Liz Lerman. I live with my two cockatiels, Moltar and Zorak.
